The Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso, two-time world champion and currently the first driver of the Alpine team, will debut a new 18-meter yacht in the coming months. Last week, the Asturian sportsman ordered the construction of the multihull 60 Power Eco from the Sunreef shipyard.
This is the new flagship catamaran of the Polish brand, the same that manufactured the Great White Power 80 boat of Rafa Nadal, but this time the boat will also be equipped with electric motors and will have smaller dimensions.
To facilitate its propulsion, a large part of the hull and decks of the superyacht will be covered with solar panels (up to 68 m2) that will generate more than 13kWp.
The vessel will also have ultra-light batteries that will enable it to cruise silently and vibration-free for six hours and supply all the ship’s power services 24 hours a day.
The interior of this model also features a variety of ancillary equipment such as wind generators and many of the materials are quality-controlled and environmentally friendly.

The Sunreef 60 Power Eco has the capacity to accommodate up to 12 guests on board and will have a permanent crew of four.
The contract for the construction of the boat was signed on September 1 at the Yacht Club de Monaco between Fernando Alonso himself and Sunreef Yachts founder and president Francis Lapp. The cost of the boat, although no official figures have yet been released, is estimated to be close to four million euros.
